The versatile MeasureReady™ MCS-EMP system from Lake Shore Cryotronics offers all the necessary elements for automated, variable field tests and can be rapidly customized for various material characterization applications, both now and in the future.
Every MCS-EMP builds on a 4-inch or 7-inch electromagnet with pole caps, a magnet base, and a pedestal. Magnets feature ExactGAP™ precision-settable sample gaps, which reduce delays when an option change is necessary. Users can continuously move the caps to an exact, precalibrated position without having to readjust every setting manually.
The 4-inch MCS-EMP comes standard with 2-inch pole caps, whereas the 7-inch MCS-EMP comes with convertible 4-inch/2-inch caps. A high-reliability linear magnet power supply is part of the system's electromagnet system controller (ESC).
Additional benefits include top-side optical access to a sample, closed-cycle refrigeration, high-temperature ovens, constant or variable temperature measurement and control, electronic measurement (such as the Hall effect with the FastHall™ module), and other alternatives.
Functions for field control, temperature management, measurement sequencing, and integration are made more accessible by the system’s adaptable MeasureLINK™-MCS software. The user can create measurement sequences from a collection of predefined controls and keep track of the MCS-EMP system’s performance in real-time.
The field and temperature can be controlled to a precise setpoint or looped over a range of settings with a predetermined step value using the menu-driven graphical user interface (GUI). The sequences can be stored and retrieved to be used in subsequent measurements.
