In this interview Veolia Water Technologies talks to AZoM about why they are exhibiting this year at Contamination Expo Series 2018.
Could you tell us a bit about the company and why you're here today?
Veolia Water Technologies are a water treatment company that offer solutions and technologies for industries in the UK. We have over 350 different water treatment technologies, that go from raw water pre-treatment into the process of various factories and water users, then all the way through to effluence and effluent treatment.
Within that, we also have the services and chemical treatment that supports those technologies. The reason we are here today at Contamination Expo and the branding of the Rethink Water is to get companies to start thinking about the water use on site. It's not as easy as turning on the tap,using the mains water, and throwing it down the sewer anymore. It's a very useful commodity. It needs to be looked after, especially with the cost of it in water scarce areas. We need to make sure that we keep control of the water.
What are the industries that you are trying to target?
I suppose the biggest of player around here is the power market, focusing on energy from waste plants. However, Veolia Water themselves focus on a whole raft of industries, such as the chemical market, food and beverage, power, pulp and paper, and pharmaceutical.

What sets you apart from any other provider in the market?
One of the key things is we offer so many technologies. We're not biased towards a certain technology, whereas some of the smaller companies may just offer one or two technologies. We would look at an application and make sure we select the right technology for that application, whether that's a cost decision, a health and safety decision, or a sustainability decision. Because the portfolio is that big, we make sure that we select the right topology.
The other thing really that sets us apart is our service offering. We have over 80 engineers in the UK, so we can support all our equipment that's out in the field. We can offer quite quick contracts, in terms of response times and our longevity. We're a big company, we've been in the business for so many years, and we have a lot of experience.
