Fabrication and Heat Treatment
Magnesium AZ92A-T4 alloy is a weldable casting alloy. It can be welded using gas-shielded and arc-welding methods. Stress relief is required after welding the alloy. The alloy is then heat-treated at 410°C (765°F) for 16 to 24 h.
Applications
Magnesium AZ92A-T4 alloy is typically used for commercial and military pressure-tight sand and permanent-mold castings that have high yield and tensile strengths.
