Basell HDPE Plant in Wesseling, Germany is Down

Basell’s 250 KT per year high density polyethylene plant (HDPE) in Wesseling, Germany is expected to be out of service for approximately 10 days to address processing problems.

“We expect to be in short supply of some of our medium density PE grades, but we will do our utmost to avoid any significant disruption in supply to our customers,” said Hans-Robert Schmidt, senior vice president of polyolefins for Basell Europe.

Basell is the world's largest producer of polypropylene and advanced polyolefin products.
