PolyOne Continue Business Transformation by Focussing on Supply Chain Innovation

PolyOne Corporation (NYSE: POL), a premier provider of specialized polymer materials, services and solutions, is continuing its business transformation through focus on supply chain innovation and effectiveness. The company will host its third annual Global Supplier Symposium on August 31, 2011.

More than 160 representatives from the world's top chemical companies and business service providers are expected to participate in the event, aimed to expand relationships, collaborate and set expectations to deliver on PolyOne's business strategies.

According to Tom Kedrowski, senior vice president, supply chain and operations at PolyOne, performance indicators such as efficiency, quality and innovation have been key contributors to PolyOne's recent transformation and ability to serve customers. "We've only just begun to experience all the mutual benefits that a cooperative, engaged supply chain can provide," he said.

PolyOne's suppliers will focus on operational improvements to enable a consistent supply of material or service, global speed-to-market, and leading technologies for specialized customer solutions.

"We have differentiated PolyOne in the marketplace through our ability to innovate," said Kedrowski. "As our suppliers better understand our strategies and expectations, it will build our innovative capabilities to even more progressive levels."

As part of the symposium, PolyOne also will recognize two companies for their contribution levels in support of PolyOne's global strategies over the past year. Suppliers receiving recognition in 2010 were Kaneka Corporation and Accenture.
