Swedish company SSAB Group has awarded three contracts to PSI to supply logistics management system to its new warehouse located at Oxelosund, Sweden and two manufacturing execution systems at sites located in China and the US.
PSI’s logistics management system will be used for the Oxelosund warehouse which will focus on semi finished plates and the manufacturing execution systems will be used for new storage areas and production lines at the sites in the US and China which will focus on heavy plates. SSAB Group will also use the manufacturing execution systems globally in order to cover functions such as logistics, planning and control.
The new orders from SSAB Group will enable PSI to expand its position in the global steel market. PSI specialises in supplying production management solutions such as APS, MES and SCM to the metal industry for the optimisation of logistics and production. The software used by the company helps metal manufacturers to meet their customer delivery goals while keeping in mind the targets for cost effectiveness, productivity and inventory. PSI develops its own software for the energy sector like electricity, gas, heat and oil industries, production software for mechanical engineering, logistics, mining and automotive industries and infrastructure management software for companies involved in transport and safety.
