BASF to Debut New Thermoplastic Polyurethane Upgrades at IWCS 2012

BASF will introduce new thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) grades with 70 Shore A hardness that fulfill special requirements for medical applications at IWCS 2012 , the International Wire & Cable Symposium and Conference from Nov. 11 to 14 at the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence, Rhode Island.

During the show, experts from BASF’s Thermoplastic Polyurethane business will present a technical paper titled: “TPU for high performance cable applications: Actual applications and future developments.” Show visitors are welcome to attend the paper presentation to learn more about the new medical grades, high heat grades, and high performance flame retardant grades that fulfill special wire and cable requirements.

BASF experts will also be on hand to discuss future wire and cable needs to fulfill the requirements of Class D or 150 degrees Celsius (Elastollan® 785A10HPM), new HFFR halogen-free flame retardant formulations (Elastollan® 1185A10HFFR), and TPU for use in contact with food items or medical devices.
