Metso Acquires Lime Kiln and Recausticizing Technology of FlSmidth

Metso has on June 28, 2013 closed the acquisition of the lime kiln and recausticizing technology of FLSmidth. The acquired business has been affiliated to Metso’s Pulp, Paper and Power segment, Fiber business line. The value of the transaction will not be disclosed.

A new lime kiln technology center is established in Copenhagen, Denmark. In total more than 20 employees experienced in the lime kiln and recausticizing business will join Metso in connection to the transaction. The technology center for recausticizing will continue to be located in Karlstad, Sweden.

This acquisition completes Metso’s portfolio as a full scope supplier to the pulp industry, and is in line with Metso's strategy to be the leading global supplier of equipment and processes to the pulp and paper industry.

Metso’s pulp, paper and power professionals specialize in processes, machinery, equipment, services, paper machine clothing and filter fabrics. Our offering and experience cover the entire process life cycle including new production lines, rebuilds and services.

As of January 2014, Metso's Pulp, Paper and Power business will serve its customers with an even more focused and competitive approach as an independent, listed company, Valmet Corporation*.
