Rohm and Haas Introduces Waterborne Technology for the High Performance Coatings Market

Rohm and Haas Company announced today the development of new waterborne technology geared to the high performance coatings market. This new technology, trade marked under the name “Avanse™”, is Rohm and Haas’s latest innovation that offers the most advanced line of waterborne acrylics, delivering the next generation of performance. Avanse™ resins offer considerable improvements in pigment distribution, allowing for significant new levels of coating performance, especially in gloss, corrosion control, and hiding.

Avanse™ MV-100, a high solids, acrylic binder which allows the paint manufacturer a broad formulating latitude, can be used in both primer and topcoat lines. Colin Gouveia, Marketing Director, Functional Polymers, explains that, “Avanse™ MV-100 is an exciting new product that will offer manufacturers an innovative choice in coatings technology.” He continues, “This binder moves the industry towards a systems approach to formulating both low VOC paints and high performance metal coatings.”

In addition, Avanse™ MV-100 meets the needs of changing VOC regulations while not compromising corrosion resistance or gloss retention. Avanse™ MV-100 is the first waterborne technology that is a system approach for 100 grams/liter VOC formulations.
