Increased Security for US Chemical Plants

In response to terrorist acts against America and other nations, the US are working on legislation to increase security around chemical plants. Of specific interest are those that process/manufacture hazardous chemicals that are located near populated areas.

The new legislation to be implemented by the Department of Homeland Security will relate to chemical plants, refineries and sites where hazardous chemicals are stored.

The proposed legislation will require these sites to conduct vulnerability assessments and fix identified problems. They believe that higher fences and more guards will solve the majority of issues.
