GKN have just acquired Pilkington Aerospace, a leading supplier of transparencies, or canopies and windows for civil and military aircraft for US$67.5 million.
Pilkington Aerospace will become part of GKN’s existing transparency operation, creating the worlds' number 1 supplier to the military sector and the worlds' number 2 supplier to the civil sector.
The acquisition will encompass sites in California in the USA, and West Midlands in the UK, as well as two smaller operations in Brazil and Thailand.
