Description

Flow Reactor

Flow Reactor Series for Catalytic Evaluation

Following the Micromeritics Microactivity Effi, this series of Micromeritics Flow Reactors (FR) includes highly advanced modular laboratory units designed for assessing the activity and selectivity of catalysts. The Micromeritics FR-100 and FR-200 are specifically crafted to streamline catalyst development and screening processes, saving both time and resources.

Each model is versatile, accommodating a diverse range of reactions, including but not limited to hydrocracking, hydrotreating, isomerization, hydrogenation, hydrodesulfurization (HDS), oxidation, hydrodenitrogenation (HDN), reforming (aromatization), GTL (Fischer-Tropsch), and steam reforming.

These benchtop reactors are also well-suited for research studies exploring topics such as biofuels, methane activation, or sustainable reactions.

Key Features

  • Fully adaptable to the user's catalytic reactions and analysis requirements, offering a range of configurations and options.
  • Automated routines reduce user errors and minimize test time.
  • The compact design minimizes the use of valuable laboratory space and can be installed within a fume hood.
  • Equipped with embedded control, including multiple temperature and pressure sensors for precise monitoring and control of reaction studies.
  • Expandable for future requirements, accommodating additional detectors or optional accessories (such as GC/MS, extra gas and liquid feeds, Liquid-Liquid-Gas (LLG) separator, and others upon request) to safeguard the investment.
  • The Pressure Control System features a servo-controlled micrometric valve that provides stable and accurate pressure control for both gas phase and multiphase streams (liquid & gas) and the resulting pressure stability eliminates flow fluctuations through the reactor bed when reaction studies are conducted with micro-flow rates at elevated pressure.  The high-speed control of the servo valve ensures great precision and stability for pressure and the valve pass coefficient is universal and does not need to be changed for any flow, pressure, or temperature conditions.
  • The integrated safety system operates in automatic and autonomous modes, ensuring the protection of both laboratory staff and the instrument.

Multi Reactor

Fully Automated and Computer-Controlled Catalyst Evaluation Units

The Micromeritics Multi Reactor (MR) series comprises efficient evaluation units designed for laboratory use, providing scientists with the ability to thoroughly assess the activity and selectivity of catalysts in screening and kinetic studies.

The MR series offers configurations with four or eight independent parallel catalyst laboratory reactors that are completely automated and computer-controlled. Additional reactors can be accommodated upon request for certain MR models.

This series's adaptability facilitates the establishment of optimal experimental conditions and the identification of operational challenges. It also enables the comparison of catalysts under identical reaction conditions.

Due to the series’ precise temperature control and feeding system, reaction and regeneration can be conducted in situ and at consecutive stages.

Key Features

  • An entirely automated modular system,  designed for efficient catalyst screening and the generation of dependable test studies.
  • The flow reactor design accommodates both extrudates and powders.
  • Configurable to meet specific application requirements, ensuring a remarkable level of flexibility.
  • Gas and optional liquid feeding systems enable the MR-4 and MR-8 to be utilized for diverse applications.
  • Metallic house reactor with quartz liner, mitigates the risk of undesirable side reactions.
  • User-friendly software facilitates the definition of experimental studies and continuous monitoring of the system.
  • Seamless integration with various analytics, including chromatography and spectroscopy, for enhanced functionality.
