Intertek Opens New, Dedicated, Fire Foam Testing Laboratory in Antwerp, Belgium

Intertek, the leading quality solutions provider to industries worldwide, has expanded its ability to provide fire foam testing services for industrial clients by opening a new, dedicated, fire foam testing laboratory in Antwerp, Belgium. The new lab complements an existing Fire Foam testing laboratory in the United Arab Emirates.

Airgas to Build Second Air Separation Unit (ASU) in Bozrah, CT

Airgas, Inc., today announced plans to expand its atmospheric gas production capacity in New England by building a second air separation unit (ASU) in Bozrah, CT in order to meet the expected increase in demand for merchant gases across its diverse customer base in the region. The ASU, which will produce oxygen, nitrogen, and argon, will be operated by Airgas Merchant Gases and is expected to begin production in the fall of 2015.

ThyssenKrupp Opens New Automotive Supply Plant in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China

ThyssenKrupp today opened a new automotive supply plant in China. In Chengdu, Sichuan Province, in the southwest of the country, the company is now producing springs and stabilizers for the Chinese market. ThyssenKrupp has invested around 20 million euros in the new plant, which has created roughly 200 new jobs.

As Pete Horan, Vice President Operations, points out, "ever since we built our Singapore factory we have seen increasing concentration of our customer base in Asia.
