Ocean Thin Films Chooses Veeco’s SPECTOR-HT Ion Beam Deposition System

Veeco Instruments, a process equipment solution provider for the production of wireless chips, MEMS, hard drives, power electronics, LEDs, and optoelectronics, has reported the qualification of its SPECTOR-HT ion beam deposition system by Ocean Thin Films, a provider of precision optical coatings, for mass production of optical filters for applications such as lighting, aerospace, display, defense and biophotonics.

Versalis, Novamont and Genomatica Join Forces to Produce Butadiene from Renewable Feedstock

Eni's chemicals subsidiary, Versalis has inked a memorandum of understanding with Novamont, a provider of biodegradable plastics, and Genomatica, a process technology developer for renewable chemicals, to form a strategic collaboration to manufacture butadiene from renewable feedstock.

Air Liquide to Design and Develop New Hydrogen Plant in China

Air Liquide has inked a long-term deal with Zhejiang Huafon Spandex (Huafon) for hydrogen supply to Huafon’s cyclohexanone project with a 120,000-ton annual production capacity in Liaoyang Aromatics and Fine Chemical Park, Liaoyang city, Liaoning province, China. Cyclohexanone is a critical material used in the production of nylon.

Al-Jubail Petrochemical Awards EPC Contract to Technip for Halobutyl Facility in Saudi Arabia

Al-Jubail Petrochemical, a 50:50 joint venture between Saudi Basic Industries and Exxon Chemical Arabia, has awarded a contract to Technip to provide engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services to a facility manufacturing halobutyl, a superior-quality synthetic rubber polymer. The halobutyl facility is situated in Al-Jubail, Saudi Arabia.
