Atofina Release New Grade of Conductive Polyamide 11 for Automotive Fuel Systems

Atofina have just released Rilsan® M-BESN Black P 212 CTL, a conductive polyamide based on polyamide 11.

This new grade of Rilsan® was developed specifically for the automotive industry, in particular, fuel systems.

Key properties of Rilsan® M-BESN Black P 212 CTL include:

  • Surface resistivity below 106ohms
  • Competitive pricing
  • Ease of processing
  • Superior resistance to hydrocarbons and alcohols, as is required for a fuel system
  • Excellent mechanical strength, eliminating the need for reinforcement
  • Outstanding low temperature properties (-40°C)

It also offers a higher melting point compared to conductive grades of polyamide 12 giving it better resistance to bursting, as well as improved fitting retention at higher temperatures. At the same time it also offers excellent flexibility, making it still easy to install.

Rilsan® M-BESN Black P 212 CTL is suitable for fuel storage and delivery systems and can be used in monolayer and two-layer structures. It is usually produced by extrusion as smooth or corrugated tubes.
