Kisuma Chemicals, a worldwide supplier of synthetic hydrotalcites and magnesium hydroxide for plastic uses, has signed a new distribution agreement with Advanced Polymer Trading (APT). Under the terms of the deal, APT will market Kisuma Chemicals’ specialty magnesium compounds.
APT is a global trading firm that deals in chemicals, rubber and plastic to serve a wide range of sectors, including medical, shoe and leather, building material, construction, automotive, packaging and agriculture.
The magnesium compounds from Kisuma Chemicals are non-toxic and are extensively used in polymer and plastic processing industries. The compounds are used for halogen scavenging in bulk polymers, as flame retardants for rubber and plastic and as substitutes to lead compounds for heat stabilization of PVC products.
Kisuma Chemicals offers a hydrotalcite like material, Alcamizer that is used in Calcium Organic Stabiliser systems as a stabilizer. The company also produces Kisuma 5, a flame retardant magnesium hydroxide, which is used as a substitute for phosphorous- or bromine-based compounds.
