Umeco, an international provider of advanced composite and process materials, announced that its current businesses will be rebranded as a single entity.

Richmond Aerovac, JD Lincoln, GRPMS and Advanced Composites Group are rebranded as Umeco. The new rebranding will be launched at the JEC Europe 2012 composites exhibition that is to be held from March 27 to 29 in Paris. The company will also exhibit new products and technologies at the event.
Umeco focuses on offering advanced composites and various services ranging from structural and process materials to distribution technologies to its customers. The company will also display several key projects at the JEC Europe event, including a prototype of the ‘TEMA’ staircase, satellite structure demonstrator, staggered sandwich panel, and VJM04 race car.
A small-scale, modular satellite structure demonstrator has been designed by Surrey Satellite Technology using Umeco’s MTM 44-1 woven prepeg systems. The MTM 44-1 prepregs combine smart design and low density, which lead to production of a lightweight, integrated structure. Another Umeco’s project that will be on display is a ‘TEMA’ staircase prototype, which is manufactured by LoSon. The prototype will demonstrate the application of vacuum bagging materials, MTM 57 OoA structural prepregs and LTM 12 tooling prepreg systems from Umeco to produce a tailored, 5 m high staircase for an aerospace company in Italy.
Umeco will showcase a staggered sandwich panel, which demonstrates the efficiency of structural and process materials from Umeco in the manufacturing of huge out-of-autoclave (OoA) structures. The VJM04 race car of Sahara Force India Formula One Team has utilized advanced prepregs from Umeco for structural and bodyworks.
