Planet Bluegrass’ Events to Use Eco-Products’ Post-Consumer Recycled Plastic Cups

The world’s first reusable, post-consumer recycled event cup has been introduced by Eco-Products, a green company based in Boulder, Colorado. The first application of the cup will be seen at 39th Annual Telluride Bluegrass Festival of Planet Bluegrass, which will be held in Telluride, Colorado from June 21 to 24, 2012. The event mainly focuses on sustainability.

Eco-Products’ cups are made of 25% post-consumer recycled polypropylene (PP). These cups will also be used at Planet Bluegrass’ other events, including Yonder Mountain String Band’s Kinfolk Celebration, the 22nd Annual Rocky Mountain Folks Festival, and the 40th Annual RockyGrass. Attendees at all the four events will be asked to take home the renewable-made cups for further use or to drop them in special bins. The deposited cups will be collected and recycled for use at the following year’s events.

Steve Szymanski, VP of Planet Bluegrass, remarked that they are always seeking innovative solutions to minimize the impacts of their events. He added that Eco-Products’ green cup is an excellent product to promote reuse and closed loop recycling.

The post-consumer recycled plastic cups from Eco-Products are available in a 16 ounce size for use in other events that are interested in shifting to a reusable and recycled solution for beverage distribution.
