MagneMotion Electro-Magnetic Technology to Boost LCD Production for Shinsung

MagneMotion, a developer and manufacturer of assembly automation, material handling and transportation solutions using electro-magnetic technology, announced today that its QuickStick linear synchronous motor (LSM) system will serve as a major sub-system for Shinsung ENG's fab automation system (FAS) for liquid crystal display (LCD) panel manufacturing. QuickStick modules and integrated controls will be used in the over-head system (OHS).

Our customers continually ask for a state-of-the-art transport system to complement our stockers, controls, and other material handling equipment. Now we can offer MagneMotion's LSM solution as an integral part of our FAS. The LSM technology offered by MagneMotion provides us with a flexible, modular, and robust overhead transport system," stated Mr. Henry Lee, president of Shinsung Global Operations.

The QuickStick LSM System's controlled movement, precise indexing, and ease of integration were key factors in Shinsung ENG's decision-making process. Its direct drive approach eliminates the need for many mechanical wear parts which in turn reduces the particle generation typical of belt and chain-based conveyors. As a modular solution, the QuickStick LSM allows for easy system redesign and can handle multiple generations of LCD manufacture or other products as requirements change.
