Ceradyne to Establish New Manufacturing Facility

Ceradyne have just acquired a 115,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Lexington, Kentucky for $.2.4 million.

It is their intention to equip the new plant with ceramics manufacturing equipment for the production of reaction bonded silicon nitride (RBSN). This material is used for cam followers in diesel truck engines, as well as other engine parts and industrial applications.

They will also expand hot pressing capabilities in the new plant, to meet an anticipated increase in demand for ceramic armour products.
