High-Throughput Strategies for Detecting Aggregates in Biotherapeutics

Presented by: Karessa White, Ph.D. and Udayabagya (Bud) Halim, Ph.D. (Waters Corporation)
Presented Live: November 4, 2025

Aggregation and the generation of oligomers and high molecular weight species (HMWS) are still significant challenges in biotherapeutic development. Left uncontrolled, they can have an impact on product efficacy, safety, and regulatory approval.

To that end, authorities recommend the use of orthogonal approaches to detect and characterize particles of various sizes. In this GEN webinar, Waters’ expert speaker will discuss a systematic strategy for detecting oligomers, HMWs, and aggregates in biotherapeutics production.

Participants will learn about a high-throughput method that uses dynamic light scattering (DLS) and background membrane imaging (BMI) to analyze particles at various sizes, from nanometers to sub-visible and beyond.
