Styrene Acrylonitrile - SAN

Polymer Type

Thermoplastic

Advantages

Better general chemical resistance than Polystyrene.  Cheaper than Acrylic.  Good combination of rigidity, strength, toughness and transparency.

Disadvantages

Less transparent than Acrylic, has a blue/grey tint.  Inferior UV resistance compared to Acrylic.  Low maximum continuous use temperature 55°C (130°F).
