The Calypso® II biomolecular interaction system from Wyatt Technology interfaces with a Wyatt multi-angle light-scattering detector - miniDAWN™ TREOS® or DAWN® HELEOS® II to enable analysis of biomolecular interactions without the need for labelling or immobilization to establish affinity, accurate molecular stoichiometry and kinetics of self-assembly, aggregation or disassociation of macromolecular complexes with the aid of composition-gradient multi-angle light scattering (CG-MALS).
The CALYPSO™ software designed for control, data acquisition and analysis is capable of analyzing self-association and hetero-association including simultaneous self- and hetero-association, high-order oligomerization, and multi-valent interactions.
The main features of the Calypso® II are listed below:
- Much faster and simpler than analytical ultracentrifugation
- Advanced technology complements isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC), surface plasmon resonance (SPR), and other biophysical techniques for characterizing interactions
- Basic unit can be fitted with a concentration detector such as a 3rd-party on-line UV absorption detector or Wyatt's Optilab® T-rEX™
