Carlson to Close Coatesville Stainless Steel Operation

G.O. Carlson will close their stainless steel plant in Coatesville, Pennsylvania later this month.

The operation has for years supplied stainless steel for submarines, power plants and spacecraft but has in recent times has fallen victim to cheaper materials sourced both locally and internationally.

The plant shipped their last material earlier this month. They have been laying off staff since last Summer and are now finalising the mothballing of the stainless steel plant. Equipment will be auctioned off in May.
