Pipe Manufacturing JV Launched

Shanghai BSW Petropipe Co Ltd, a joint venture between China’s Baoji Petroleum Steel Pipe Company and Malaysia’s UMW Group was launched yesterday. The two companies own 51 and 49% of the US$19million joint venture respectively.

Shanghai BSW Petropipe Co Ltd, currently has an annual production capacity of 120,000 tons of spiral submerged-arc welded pipes, however, this could increase as additional production lines become available.

The pipes they produce will be used for the long distance transportation of oil and gas.
