ATK has received a $3.4 million, three-year contract to supply the 38,000-member New York City Police Department (NYPD) with 38 Special Gold Dot Hollow Point ammunition. With this new contract, ATK now provides the NYPD with nearly every round of ammunition it will use in pistols, rifles, and shotguns.
Mark DeYoung, group vice president, Ammunition and Related Products, said ATK is proud to supply the nation’s law enforcement agencies with the ammunition they need to protect our citizens.
“ATK is well known as the largest supplier of ammunition to our nation’s military, but equally important to safety and security, is the ammunition we provide to law enforcement agencies at the local, state and federal level,” said DeYoung.
ATK will produce the ammunition at its Lewiston, Idaho, facility under the Speer brand name. The company produces more than 300 million rounds of centerfire pistol ammunition per year. The majority of the nation’s law enforcement agencies use its Gold Dot duty ammunition.
