British Nanotechnology company Oxonica have been successful in raising over US$6million in venture capital funding. Companies that participated in this round of funding include VCF Partners, BASF Venture Capital GmbH, NextGen Partners LLC, Northern Venture Managers and Generics Asset Management Ltd.
Oxonica specialise in making nanoparticles using patented technology. Their materials are assembled atom by atom and possess unique physical and chemical properties.
While many nanomaterial technologies are still experimental, Oxonica are already carrying out material trials in areas such as catalysis, cosmetics, medical diagnostics and healthcare. Positive results indicate that commercial products are only around the corner and Oxonica could begin to generate revenue in the near future.
