Pliant Corp to Close NY Manufacturing Facility

Pliant Corp announced today that it would be closing its subsidiary Pliant Solutions’ manufacturing operation in Fort Edward, New York. The facility was acquired in May of this year when Pliant acquired Decora Inc and Deocra Solutions. The closure is expected to be completed by early 2003.

The Fort Edward plant was the sole manufacturing location for decorative adhesives. It equipment will be relocated to other facilities to accommodate customer requirements.

There were several reasons behind the closure of this plant of which restructuring to utilise existing technological and manufacturing platforms offered by Pliant was the main consideration.
