EcoLogic has signed an agreement with Letica to supply the Eco-One brand of organic plastic additives. Letica, a manufacturer of rigid plastic containers and foodservice packaging, will utilize the Eco-One products to produce thin-walled, biodegradable food containers and plastic cold beverage lids and cups. In addition, Letica has planned to use EcoLogic’s organic plastic additive to assist biodegradation in their large rigid plastic container offerings.
Maui Cup EcoLine FoodWare items will be the initial biodegradable products to be introduced by Letica. The products made with the Eco-One organic plastic additives are biodegradable in biologically active landfills. The additive technology provides a secure and sustainable substitute for traditional plastic containers and cups. It helps to deliver plastic products that may be used for direct food contact packaging applications in accordance with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration guidelines.
Companies such as Letica are using EcoLogic’s organic additive to eliminate plastic wastes that escapes from the recycling process and ends up in landfills.
