Alcan to Reduce Emissions from Quebec Facilities

Alcan, have announced that they will reduce green house gas emissions from its Quebec facilities by an average of 285,000 tonnes compared to 1999 levels based on equivalent production levels. They intend to achieve these lower emissions levels by the end of 2003 according to a voluntary agreement signed with the Quebec government.

Alcan have reduced GHG emissions since 1990 by over 2 million tonnes. The latest agreement is a continuation of their commitment to reduce overall emissions.
