Introduction
Steels having carbon as the primary alloying element are referred as carbon steels. They have 0.4% silicon and 1.2% manganese. They also contain small amount of chromium, molybdenum, nickel, aluminium, and copper. Impurities such as phosphorous and sulfur are found in these steels.
