Introduction
Carbon steels are designated by AISI four-digit numbers. They contain carbon as the major alloying element. Molybdenum, chromium, aluminium, copper, and nickel are present in traces. In addition to these, they also contain 0.4% silicon and 1.2% manganese.
The following datasheet gives an overview of AISI 1552 carbon steel.
