Magnesium alloys are preferred by many designers due to their low density. These alloys are also known to have good high temperature mechanical properties and good to excellent corrosion resistance.

Magnesium ZK61A-T6 alloy has better yield strength than ZK61A-T5. It has good room-temperature strength and ductility.
