Introduction

Aluminium / aluminum is a chemical element belonging to the boron group. It is light, strong, non-toxic, and recyclable, and also possesses an attractive appearance. When this metal is combined with one of these elements - silicon, magnesium, zinc, manganese, and copper, aluminium / aluminum alloys are formed.

Aluminium / aluminum 4015 alloy is a wrought alloy with good ductility and mechanical strength. It was formed as a general purpose alloy. Due to its high silicon content, this alloy can be anodized, welded or painted.

Fabrication

Aluminium / aluminum 4015-H14 alloy can be welded using MIG and TIG welding methods. The recommended welding wire is aluminium / aluminum 4043 (Al Si5). Cold workability, gas weldability, arc weldability , solderability, and brazability of aluminium / aluminum 4015-H14 alloy is excellent. Resistance weldability and machinability is also possible.
