Introduction

The UNS numbers C53200 to C54800 indicate leaded phosphor bronzes. They are a category of copper alloys. Leaded phosphor bronze alloys possess good strength and fatigue resistance coupled with good machinability, high wear resistance and corrosion resistance.

Fabrication

Welding - Soldering is ideal for this alloy. Brazing and butt welding are rated as good while gas shielding arc welding, spot welding, and seam welding are rated as fair. Oxyacetylene welding is not recommended.

Hot working – Copper UNS C12900 alloy has poor hot working abilities.

Cold working - Copper UNS C12900 alloy has good cold working properties.
