Siemens and Gebr. Pfeiffer Develop New Drive System for Powerful Cement Mill in Brazil

The Siemens Drive Technologies Division has developed a new drive system for a cement mill as part of a joint project with Gebr. Pfeiffer SE, a company with a long and successful tradition in the manufacture of processing systems for the cement, lime, gypsum and ceramics industries.

Alcoa Postpones Construction of New Potline at Québec Baie-Comeau Smelter

Alcoa announced today it is postponing construction of a new potline at its Baie-Comeau smelter in Québec as part of a revised modernization plan for the smelter, but will begin preparations for the upgrade by investing $100 million in the smelter over the next three years and by permanently closing the plant’s two Soderberg potlines.

Novelis to Open Aluminum Recycling and Continuous Casting Line at Italy Pieve Emanuele Facility

Novelis, the world leader in aluminum rolling and recycling, today announced the opening of a new aluminum recycling and continuous casting line at its Pieve Emanuele facility in Milan, Italy. Brady to Sell Die-Cut Business Based in Asia

Brady Corporation (“Brady”), a world leader in identification solutions, today reported that it plans to sell its Asia-based Die-Cut business. This business, with sales of $179 million during the year ended July 31, 2012, consists of the manufacture and sale of high-performance products such as gaskets, meshes, heat dissipation materials, antennae, dampers, filters, and similar products sold primarily into the electronics industry with a concentration in the mobile-handset and hard-disk drive industries.
