Nippon Steel, Arcelor and Tata Steel in Joint Automotive Steel Agreement

Japans, Nippon Steel, together with Europe’s Arcelor, will jointly assist Tata Steel of India to develop steels for the Indian Automotive market. After this primary goal has been achieved, the second target will be for all three to improve their efficiency and performance.

Nippon Steel will lend their expertise to the Indian steel maker, working initially on cold rolled products, while Arcelor will assist in the area of galvanised steel strip for automotive applications.

All three hope to use the joint co-operative agreement to secure global business opportunities in the future as well as helping to keep one another technologically up to date and competitive.
