The acquisition of Lab Manager Magazine; Lab Manager e-newsletter and LabManager.com will leverage the global reach of LabX. The LabX marketplace serves tens of thousands of scientific professionals each month who buy laboratory equipment in the analytical and life science markets. With LabX continuing to set the standard for hi-tech auctions through 13 years of operation, the addition of the print publication solidifies its operational model as a full-service marketplace where companies can locate both new and used equipment and supplies.

Under the new ownership, changes are underway for Lab Manager Magazine which will begin delivery of the inaugural issue this summer. The magazine will operate initially as a bi-monthly publication running five regular issues plus a sixth purchasing directory each year. The core audience of subscribers responsible for their laboratory operations will continue to be the focus of the magazine. LabX President Bob Kafato comments, “We will continue to cater to Lab Managers while adding value to the publication from the LabX organization. This will help readers make more informed purchasing decisions.” Vicon Publishing, Inc.’s CEO, Patrick Murphy agrees, “Lab Manager Magazine’s subscribers who buy, specify and recommend laboratory products and services will be well served by LabX.” Looking forward to the release of the magazine’s updated format Kafato stated, “We believe our magazine will help lab managers run their laboratories better by providing insightful information that crosses business, management and science.”

The premier issue will be delivered this July to a current BPA audited circulation of over 30,000 subscribers. LabX will also extend subscriptions to current Lab Managers registered on the LabX website who want to receive the new publication either in hardcopy or digital format.
