SCHOTT's New Tempering Furnace Featuring Fused Silica Tempering Rollers Exceeds Standards

As announced by Landglass, Luoyang, China the Combined Force Convection Tempering Furnace supplied to SCHOTT (Suzhou) has now been operating continuously for nearly three months. SCHOTT has confirmed that the equipment has passed all around acceptance and its technical parameters have met or exceeded the standards.

The Combined Force Convection Tempering Furnace includes Landglass' jet heating technology, 3mm tempering technology supported by Siemen's advanced control system, and Vesuvius SMARTLY DRIVEN tempering rollers.

Landglass and SCHOTT conducted tempering tests on printed panels ranging from 2.85mm to 8mm and low-E glass. Quality indicators such as bow, waviness and granularity all met or surpassed SCHOTT's acceptance standards.

In early 2008, Vesuvius reinforced its position as the world's leading innovative supplier of Fused Silica Tempering Rolls with the launch of the patented SMARTLY DRIVEN all mechanical end caps attachment system.

This unique end cap attachment development uniquely applies an environmentally and ergonomically friendly end cap system eliminating the need for a resin bond requiring chemicals such as formaldehyde.

The SMARTLY DRIVEN End Cap is a superior product capable of withstanding arduous temperatures and torque operating condition. The maximum operating temperature has increased to 350° C compared to 150° C with the resin bonded design.

Vesuvius manufacturers and designs advanced ceramics for the Glass Forming and Fabricating, Solar Engery, and Metallurgical industries.
