GrafTech Receives Second Request from DOJ Regarding Proposed Acquisitions

GrafTech International Ltd. (NYSE:GTI) today announced that it has received a request for additional information and documentary material from the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) regarding GrafTech’s proposed acquisitions of Seadrift Coke L.P. and C/G Electrodes LLC.

The request for additional information and material, commonly referred to as a “Second Request”, is part of a customary antitrust regulatory review process. Completion of the acquisitions is subject to compliance with applicable DOJ clearance procedures as well as other customary closing conditions. GrafTech intends to reply to the request promptly and continues to expect the two acquisitions to close in 2010.
