New Wire Bending Robot Helps to Meet Turnaround Needs of Marlin Steel Wire

Marlin Steel Wire’s President Drew Greenblatt declares “Great ideas coming from our innovative engineering team is surging us through this recession. 20% of our staff are mechanical engineers or designers creating brilliant ideas.”

Greenblatt continues, “This gets us more orders so we have to buy more of the best technology and hire more great people. It is a wonderful, virtuous cycle.”

Fastest CNC WIre Form Robot-495 inches of wire per minute bending at a rate of 3600 degrees a second.

One of Marlin Steel’s manufacturing engineers, Christopher Elwood, stated, “Chinese factories fear us. We are their worst nightmare. Think about it – great quality, delivered fast with slick engineering. They have no chance.”

Kashyap Alur, another Marlin Steel Mechanical engineer stated, “My colleagues and I design wire forms with tight tolerances for fast delivery. Having this new wire bending robot will give us more opportunities to stretch our creative limits and ship even faster.”

One of Marlin Steel Wire’s lead engineers, Tony Witt, said, “the beauty about this machine is that we can take a dxf of a client approved wire form and download it directly into the robot. This minimizes the chance for errors. Typos are eliminated. We will make s hooks and complex wire forms right every time.”

Marlin Steel’s Plant Manager, Rafe Walters, approved of the machine, saying “Our clients demand tight ship dates that no other wire forming company can meet. This huge investment will enable Marlin Wire to meet these fast turnaround requirements. “

Marlin Steel has purchased two robots domestically in the last sixty days:

  • Marlin Steel Wire purchased this robot from a Chicago manufacturer, a carbon copy of one they had bought less than one year ago.
  • Earlier this summer, Marlin Steel purchased the world’s fastest CNC Sheet Metal Punch that was made in Connecticut. This sheet metal forming robot forms and punches sheet metal, which has enabled Marlin Steel to take back over thirty jobs from a Chinese vendor for a Midwest buyer.
