Nanoledge Commercialise Carbon Nanotubes

From its start, Nanoledge launched an industrialisation program to produce carbon nanotubes (single wall carbon nanotubes). Last month, the first step in this program was successfully achieved - and thus gets Nanoledge among the world leaders with 4 ounces of nanotubes produced per day.

Since the beginning of the year, Nanoledge has been working on the design of high performance materials based on nanotubes.

Its know how is set on both its own R&D platform (the company has now a team of 18, mainly PhD's and engineers and a managerial team experienced in project managemnent) and on a network of cooperation with public labs (GDPC Montpellier, Max Planck Institute Stuttgart, CRPP Bordeaux, ONERA Paris).

The acquired expertise is not only dedicated to in-house projects and the creation of new materials, but also to advice as an R&D services firm for other industrials interested in integrating nanotubes in their products.

The design of a unique nanotube fibre with CRPP's is the first achievement. This innovation is a great leap toward the design of a new fibre with higher performance than is currently available. The space industry is really keen on getting this fibre and incorporating it into new projects such as the famous space elevator.
