Korea Zinc to Build 7th Ausmelt Furnace

Ausmelt have just signed a contract to construct a seventh furnace for Korea Zinc, the world’s largest manufacturer of zinc metal.

They will use the furnace to treat copper secondary materials and to recover copper from other copper by-products.

Korea Zinc already have 6 Ausmelt furnaces that it uses to treat zinc and lead materials. They also have plans to install Ausmelt technology in their plant in Townsville, Australia.
