Rohm and Haas Company has announced the development of new waterborne technology geared to the high performance coatings market. This new technology, trade marked under the name “Avanse™”, is Rohm and Haas’s latest innovation that offers the most advanced line of waterborne acrylics, delivering the next generation of performance. Avanse™ resins offer considerable improvements in pigment distribution, allowing for significant new levels of coating performance, especially in gloss, corrosion control, and hiding.
Avanse™ MV-100, a high solids, acrylic binder which allows the paint manufacturer a broad formulating latitude, can be used in both primer and topcoat lines. Colin Gouveia, Marketing Director, Functional Polymers, explains that, “Avanse™ MV-100 is an exciting new product that will offer manufacturers an innovative choice in coatings technology.” He continues, “This binder moves the industry towards a systems approach to formulating both low VOC paints and high performance metal coatings.”
In addition, Avanse™ MV-100 meets the needs of changing VOC regulations while not compromising corrosion resistance or gloss retention. Avanse™ MV-100 is the first waterborne technology that is a system approach for 100 grams/liter VOC formulations.
