PetroChina to Use Basell Technology for 3 New Polypropylene Plants

PetroChina and Bassel have just signed a licensing agreement that will see PetroChina use Bassel’s Spheripol technology in three new polypropylene plants.

The new plants with a combined capacity of 800,000 tonnes per year will be built in Daqing, Lanzhou and Dalian in the People’s Republic of China. The former two plants will have capacities of 300,000 tonnes per year, while the Dalian plant will have a capacity of 200,000 tonner per year.

The Spheripol technology which has been constantly improved and upgraded has been used in almost half of all new polypropylene plants built across the world over the last 20 years.
