PET Plant Inaugurated in West Bengal, India

South Asian Petrochem Ltd, the flagship of the Dhanseri Group commissioned its polyethylene terephthalate (PET) operation in West Bengal, India today.

Although the plant was commissioned today, trial production began on April 11. The plant has a capacity of 140,000 mt/y.

It will produce bottle grade PET, of which all is destined for the export market. To date approximately 75% of their capacity has already been committed.

A key feature of the new plant is that it is able to generate its own power ensuring no interruptions to its power supply.
