Kerr-McGee Production Suspended Due to Cheap Imports

Just a week after announcing the closure of its Alabama, USA, synthetic rutile plant, Kerr-McGee have announced that will be placing its manganese dioxide plant in Nevada, USA on standby indefinitely.

The reasons given were that they had high inventory levels and were trying to compete with low cost imports.

The suspension or production could affect anywhere from 85 to 130 employees at the plant. However, they will continue to produce boron trichloride at this location.
