Kyocera Photovolatics Power 57.6kW Array

Solar Technologies have installed a Kyocera Solar photovoltaic array at West Marine, which they believe to be the largest photovoltaic array in the county.

The 57.6kW array consists of 480, 120W solar panels, which are capable of supplying 81,000 kWh of electricity per year. They estimate that they will be able to save as much as two thirds of their electricity requirements for their 5000square foot showroom, or the equivalent of 20 average sized homes.

The installation costs were largely offset by government initiatives which encourage the use of alternative energy sources, making the project even more viable.
