Engel Open Service Centre in Prague

Engel had every reason to celebrate: in conclusion of a two-year planning and building phase, one of the most important Engel construction projects in recent years could be realized – the new service center of Engel Czechia in Prague, the oldest Engel subsidiary in eastern Europe. The opening celebration was conducted in the attendance of the owner family, Engel executive management, as well as representatives of the city of Prague.

The new Engel office building is conveniently located in the southern city district no. 4, in Baarova Street 18, in a newly developed office area. The new construction became necessary due to the continuous growth of Engel Czechia. This overcrowded condition in a house from the period of industrial expansion is now history. With 33 employees, of which 17 are service engineers, and an extensive spare parts storage, Engel Czechia is considered as the largest subsidiary in the Engel organization. With a modern training center and the large technical capacity, ECZ positions itself as a technical service center, which is not exclusive to the economic area of the Czech Republic, but is available as needed to the entire region of middle and eastern Europe. Provisions have been made for additional growth: Of the five floors of the office building, currently only two are used by Engel. The rest is leased out.

With the opening of this service center in Prague, Engel continues its persistent course of reinforcing the network of sales and service subsidiaries in the eastern European region. Engel has been present since the fifties in its eastern neighboring countries with a dense network of representatives. With the political turning point in 1989, wholly owned subsidiaries could be founded. Engel currently is present in Czechia (since 1990), Hungary (1993), and Poland (2002) with subsidiaries. Since 2002 Engel Finland has supplemented the “Eastern Network” and serves also the neighboring Estonia. Customers in Latvia and Lithuania are served by Engel Poland due to the cultural and local proximity.

Currently the network is being expanded through the new construction for the subsidiary Engel Poland, which will be finished by the end of 2006 and in operation in the first quarter of 2007. A further building block in eastern Europe has been the founding of the Engel Main Office Moscow for the coordination of machine sales in the Republic of Russia.
Through the continuous expansion of the subsidiary network in eastern Europe, Engel accompanies the positive economical development of this economical region.
