HANS Device Wins Humanitarian Award for Auto Racing Safety

Bob Hubbard and Jim Downing, founders of HANS Performance Products, manufacturers of the internationally award winning HANS Device, are the recipients of the American Auto Racing Writers and Broadcasters Association's inaugural Auto Racing Safety and Humanitarian Service Award (AARWBA.)

The award will be presented at the AARWBA's 37th All America Team Banquet in January, where Jack Roush will be giving the keynote address. Bob Hubbard said, "Our educational programs have led the head and neck restraint industry for over 25 years. We are tireless in our desire to help all racers and rule makers understand the safety benefits that head and neck restraints, such as HANS Devices, can provide."

The AARWBA committee, comprised of professional motor sports journalists and photographers, were given a list of organizations and people who met certain criteria for the award. Part of the criteria required acts of kindness of heroic proportion without regard to the consequences.

Jim Downing said, "When we entered this business, we set out to make a difference, not a profit. And still, to this day, the HANS Device continues to make a difference in racing communities all over the world. We appreciate the AARWBA recognizing our hard work and dedication to the safety of racing."
